“PARTTTIME was a performance/ still-life piece that lasted 2 hours during the Painting & Printmaking Senior Show. In this piece I wanted to investigate the relationship between the self and the environment. I had been making work about barriers, in which I veiled myself as a form of protection or boundary from the audience. But in this piece, I placed myself as a semi-static being battling an attachment inside a dripping mysterious picture plane.  While there was a tension between the fragility of my body and the roughness that surrounded me, this self-scene created a different type of tension as it existed in real time with a live audience. I believe that I was trying to understand boundaries in a different manner”.  (Richmond, VA 2010)
